It's really nice down here in Melbourne. From the minute I got off the plane, I could feel the warm air of Florida. It's the kind of feeling when you know you're someplace else. The heat seeps through and warms the body temperature from the frozen heart of the cold. Nanoo, Drew and myself went to downtown Melbourne within an hour since my plane landed and while Drew was getting a haircut, Nanoo and I walked down by the harbor, which was really nice! Birds flew overhead and circled around, returning to their original positions. The atmosphere seemed quite tranquil. It gave me ideas for movies. Something philosophical. Something Godardesc. Something about life in an atmospherical sense.

I have bought four books since I've been here. Delta Venus by Annis Nin, The Impossible Man by some man (ironic), and Hollywood by Gore Vidal. Mom promised to buy Drew and myself one movie each as a present. Drew picked out The Darjeeling Limited and I had planned on buying Slipstream, but none of the stores around here carry the film. So, I am planning on purchasing The John-Luc Godard early set. Isn't that weird, since I was thinking about him earlier. It's only 30 dollars, which is 10 more than what Drew's cost, so maybe she won't fuss too much. Besides, she gave me her American Express card. She also bought me new shoes. I always told myself that I'd never buy the Vans slip on shoes, but I found a pair that is solid black, with nothing else on them. I thought that I could come up with a neat design and paint it on the black shoes.

We're about to head out and celebrate my mom's 50th birthday. She told us not to get her anything, but Drew and I (actually just me, but I wanted to include my brother) surprised her with Reba season 1 and2, because she loves that show. She spent so much money on the two of us this week, so I wanted to give something back. I'll write more when I get home tonight.
